Mr. Brent Maddock, Director and Co-writer of "Tremors 3"
I'd be delighted to comment on my working with Ariana on both "Tremors" (as co-writer and co-producer) and "Tremors 3" (as director and co-writer). I think she represents what was probably the most satisfying aspect of having made those films, which is, simply put, the pleasure of working with good, kind, talented people who are dedicated to not only doing a good job, but also dedicated to doing it the right way.
It's easy in the film business to walk all over the people you work with; to yell and scream and throw tantrums and then, if the movie actually turns out to be pretty good, to somehow justify your selfish behavior as being a necessary and, therefore, justifiable part of the creative process. We don't act that way. I know Ariana appreciated that supportive and respectful atmosphere on both the "Tremors" films she was in. But she's also responsible for that atmosphere. As a cute little kid working on that first film back in 1989 she was a delight. So was her mom who who had to be about the best stage mom there ever was. They both made things much easier on us which we've always appreciated, especially because that first film was, in fact, the first feature film we'd ever produced.
Then, eleven years later, to bring back Ariana for "Tremors 3" was so much fun, although shocking to actually see her all grown up. And yet she's still the same fun, sweet person. We'd love to work with her again.
Thanks, Brent Maddock |
